Microsoft Hyper-V is a server virtualization that runs on on Windows 2008 or higher.
It is a hypervisor-based virtualization system for x64 Windows operating systems.
The following operating systems are supported on Hyper-V:
- Windows Server 2008 R2 (Standard/Enterprise/Datacenter), both x86 and x64
- Windows Server 2008 (Standard/Enterprise/Datacenter), both x86 and x64
- Windows Server 2003 R2 (Standard/Enterprise/Datacenter), both x86 and x64
- Windows Server 2003 (Standard/Enterprise/Datacenter), both x86 and x64
- Windows 2000 Server with Service Pack 4
- Windows 7 Business/Enterprise/Ultimate, both x86 and x64
- Windows Vista Business/Enterprise/Ultimate, both x86 and x64
- Windows XP Professional, both x86 and x64
- A few Linux distributions
A Microsoft Hyper-V check requires the following parameters:
- Services - A list of Microsoft Hyper-V Server services that should be running on the target server;
- Processes - A list of Microsoft Hyper-V services that should be running on the target server;
- WMI Performance Counters - A list of Hyper-V Server performance counters that should be monitored.
